Summer Crib Room and Children's Church School Teachers
Every summer Sunday, the church provides childcare in our crib and toddler room for children up through age 2, as well as a one-room church school program for Preschoolers through 3rd graders. In order to make this all happen, we need your help!
Please consider volunteering to support one of these programs this summer. We need loving caregivers for our youngest ones, plus teachers for the older class. Elementary Church School
(Preschool through 5th grade):
Classes are offered for pre-K through 5th grade children on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. from early September through early June. Children attend the first portion of the worship service in the sanctuary with their families and are dismissed to classes following the children’s sermon.
During the Sundays of Lent, the Kindergarten through 5th grade children participated in a Jerusalem Marketplace experience, learning about Jerusalem at the time of Jesus. A dramatic presentation of the Holy Week story was viewed by all before they proceeded to the synagogue to learn about the religious practices and studies of the time. The children then moved to different shops, each depicting a craft in the marketplace of Jesus’ time. They experienced carpentry, pottery-making, weaving, baking, basketry, and jewelry-making. The children were actively learning and using all their senses to experience these themes. The preschool class met separately and uses a Bible-based, hands-on curriculum that is fun and active for all involved.
Each communion Sunday (the first Sunday of each month), the teens of our church provide a special children’s Chapel Service at 10:00 a.m.. The service offers the children an opportunity to learn about community church worship through song, message and prayer.
On holiday and summer Sundays, the preschool through 4th grade children come together to experience a video Bible story and participate in activities based on this story. 
Crib Room:
Loving care is provided each Sunday for all infants and toddlers by our crib room staff.
Children’s Offering:
We believe it to be important that our children learn there are several ways to serve God, through their time, talent, and treasure. We invite our children to give of their time in worship; we invite them to share their talents through music and mission; and we invite our children to learn to share of their treasure. To that end, boxes of offering envelopes are given to all the church school children through grade 5. On Communion Sundays, the offering will be taken at Children's Chapel. On other Sundays, an usher will be standing at the door to the corridor with a basket in which the children's envelopes are to be placed as they leave the sanctuary for classes. As a point of information, note that this year it will cost the church $143 per child for the materials needed for the child's Christian education.
