Rooted in Abundance
2027 Stewardship Campaign
They shall be like a tree planted by water, sending out its roots by the stream. It shall not fear when heat comes, and its leaves shall stay green; in the year of drought it is not anxious, and it does not cease to bear fruit.
—Jeremiah 17:8
The church is growing! Like the tree the Prophet Jeremiah writes of, we are bearing great fruit in our faith, our fellowship, and our service at Wilton Congregational. Our roots reach back 300 years, grounding us in this town and in tradition yet our branches are growing too. New members and families are continually joining our community. The 2027 stewardship theme, Rooted in Abundance, celebrates God’s overflowing grace we experience in our lives!
Stewardship Takes All of Us
In 1726 our founders planted a church that sought be faithful to God’s call on our lives to worship, serve, and connect. They gave generously, building the community that we inherit today. Once again, we are asking our members to share in the stewardship and care of our church through pledging financial support. The church is 100% self-funded. The vast majority of our support comes from annual financial pledges and gifts from our congregation.
To continue growing in 2027, we will need to raise $655,000 from our members. This is an increased pledge base to meet the needs of our growing church and the communities we serve particularly in growth areas of adult education programming and community engagement.

Giving is a Spiritual Practice
God calls us to make a pledge that is meaningful – a number that reflects thought, conversation, perhaps some budgeting, and prayer. You may find it helpful to know that last year our average pledge was $4,800 and, annually, it costs about $2,200 per person to run the church. No matter what you give, the hope is that your giving is motivated by the abundance of God’s grace in your life.
Thank you!
Together we make it possible for our ministries to be carried out year after year. As we ask for participation in the annual stewardship campaign we celebrate and thank you for your continued generosity!
